On Saturday, Mizzou travels to Gainesville, Florida to face the Florida Gators in SEC conference play. We will break down the matchup of this huge SEC matchup.

What Florida Does Really Well.

Florida shoots really well from the field. They ranked 21st in the nation in field goal percentage. They average 73 points per game and they average 75 points at home per game. Billy Donovan is a great coach and if Mizzou is going to have success on the road in the SEC, they need to play great defense.

What Florida Doesn’t Do Well

Rebounding is probably the weakest of all the strengths. Florida is a very good team that could be Elite Eight or Final Four bound. They do not grab a lot of rebounds which might be something this bigger Mizzou team might be able to exploit in Gainsville.

Best Player

Kenny Boynton is one of the best players in college basketball but his consistency is something to be desired. Some games he will just score from anywhere and in other games, he is MIA. That might have a lot to do with Boynton shooting many threes and not getting to the free throw line that often. Boynton only averages 3 free throw attempts per game.

Prediction

If Mizzou wants to compete for an SEC title, it will have to win games like this. Ole Miss is a very good team and so is Vanderbilt. Mizzou will have to take care of business on the road. I expect a better performance than the one last Saturday but I think they lose a close one.

Florida wins 76-72
