Missouri tied its series with the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, making Sunday’s matchup a must-win.

Missouri convincingly defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks today, 7-2. A day after their 20-game win streak was ended by the Razorbacks, Missouri tied the series against Arkansas.

Even the rain couldn’t stop the Tigers as they rallied back from Friday’s loss, and soundly defeated the Razorbacks.

The score suggests that Missouri was the dominant team in this outing, but Arkansas was able to keep the game close, for a while. Both teams were tied at one-a-piece through the better part of six innings.

At the bottom of the sixth, Robbie Glendinning homered a double, and then Brian Sharp hit a third home run, extending Mizzou’s lead, 4-1. Later in the inning, Nelson Mompierre homered another double, adding to the Tigers’ lead, 6-1.

The Tigers’ final score of the game occurred after Kameron Misner singled to right field, allowing Matt Berler to score.

According to the SEC Network, Head Coach Steve Bieser was thrilled with the way Missouri rebounded from Friday night’s loss to the Razorbacks.

"“That was the biggest thing going into the day that I wanted to see. I do believe that this club is very resilient and was expecting them to bounce back and play well today. To me that was the most exciting thing because I think when you go back and look at yesterday’s game, and I had some time to look it, that was our worst-played game all season long. Then to come back and see us play what I consider to be one of our best games, from every side of it. Plassmeyer pitched outstanding. We make great plays throughout the game behind him and then to see T.J. come in and do his thing and then to see us explode and open up an inning, I thought this was the best game we’ve played all season long.” -Head Coach Steve Biseser"

In all, Missouri scored on 6 runs in the sixth inning. Arkansas scored its second, and final, run at the top of the eighth inning. The win improves Missouri’s record to 21-2 on the season (4-1 SEC).

Game 3 will serve as the series tie-breaker on Sunday at 1:00 PM (CST), which will be televised on the SEC Network.

While Arkansas has proven a tough opponent, the Tigers show that they have the upper hand in this final outing. Their defensive play has improved, while offensively, the Tigers are on fire.
