This is the week that all Missouri basketball fans have waited for. Prospective recruit Kevin Knox plans to announce his decision sometime over the next 10 days.
It feels like it’s been a long two months since prospective recruit Kevin Knox’s interest in the budding Missouri basketball program made a turn from a fan’s dream, to a reality.
Like its fans, the Missouri basketball program has eagerly awaited Knox’s decision, and much like everyone else, has shared in the roller coaster of highs and lows with every rumble of news on Knox.

To date, there hasn’t been a nudge from Knox or his father about which program the five-star recruit is considering, and in all fairness, the objectivity has been comforting, in an odd sense.
Meanwhile, Knox will be making his decision among a few pedigreed programs steeped in history: The “blue-bloods” of Kentucky, Duke, and UNC. He is also considering Florida State, a program which his family has a history playing for, and then Missouri is the late wildcard in the race.
But for the series of events which drew No. 1 recruit Michael Porter, Jr. to commit to Mizzou, Knox likely wouldn’t have given the Tigers’ program a second thought.
While at least one source has omitted Missouri from the running of programs still generating his interest, the recruit’s father, Kevin Knox, Sr., has reaffirmed his son’s interest, otherwise.
If Knox decides to call Columbia home for at least one season, then Missouri’s odds of winning the National Championship in 2018 increase exponentially.
In the meantime we will wait, on pins and needles over the next 10 days, for Knox’s announcement.
