Michael Porter, Jr. is better than NBA’s Steph Curry

In a recent interview, Missouri basketball forward Michael Porter, Jr. discussed his future at Mizzou, and dished about playing one on one with Steph Curry.

Michael Porter, Jr. is a big kid. The fact that he has also played one-on-one with the likes of Steph Curry is also pretty cool.

While Missouri is thrilled to have Porter’s talents on its rebuilding team, it’s also fun when he shares his thoughts and experiences.

There is little doubt in my mind that Porter presents a challenge to play against in a game of one-on-one. Most impressive though, is his ability to guard the likes of NBA superstar Steph Curry, as a graduating high schooler.

More from Truman's Tales

During his interview with NBADraft.net, Porter stated, that Curry wasn’t able to cover him, and he missed both shots taken against Porter.

While dishing about their time on the court, Porter credited Curry as the best he’s ever played against.

"The best player I’ve ever played against…got to be Stephen Curry. We played one on one, I mean he couldn’t guard me, he’s too little but he’s the best player I’ve ever played against. We were playing King of the Hill. He only shot on me twice, after that I got on a roll and I didn’t come off the court. But he missed both shots so what can I say."

What?! At this point, I’m not sure what’s more exciting: The fact that at his age, Michael Porter, Jr. can hold his own against one of the NBA’s top talents, or that this talented athlete will be in black and gold in six months. I’ll take his commit to Mizzou, with a side of outplaying a professional basketball player. Granted, Porter stands a whole seven inches taller than Curry, but that’s impressive!
