On Tuesday, the date and time for the newly-minted “Battle Line Rivalry” game between Missouri and Arkansas was set for a prime time showing.

The game is once again set for the Friday after Thanksgiving, on CBS. Last year, I was at the mall during this game, and caught glimpses when I could, so with the move to a prime time slot, I will hopefully be able to see the bulk of the game.

Since its start, and more specifically, when Missouri joined the SEC, the Tigers are 2-1 against Arkansas. In 2016, the Tigers pulled ahead in the series, after defeating the Razorbacks, 28-24.

This year’s matchup, which will be played in Fayetteville, Ark., could give Arkansas a chance to tie the series. Unless Missouri is having a strong season, then the Tigers could widen their lead over the hogs.

Since kansas has regularly denied Missouri any chance of ever playing a scheduled game of anything, including pickup basketball, it seemed right to foster a rivalry game with our neighbors to the south.

After all, everyone knows that Arkansas is just kansas with an “A-R” in front of it.

While rivalries are taken very seriously by some, they’re still all-around fun in general.

The last few showings of what has become an annual game, have been exciting. Last year, Missouri rallied from 21 points down, to snatch victory from Arkansas.

I’m very excited to see who shows their clout this year, especially considering the number of offensive players returning for the Tigers this season. Hopefully, Mizzou’s defense will be able to keep Arkansas’ offense honest.
