Missouri Football: J’Mon Moore and Dimetrios Mason among top receivers in SEC
Missouri’s offense received another ratings boost from ESPN on Tuesday, as the Tigers once again find themselves in the top 5 of the SEC.
ESPN has shown favor toward Missouri, of late. On Tuesday, Mizzou’s backfield found its way into the top 5 (No. 4), and today the Tigers find themselves with the (almost) top receivers in the conference.
I’m loving the love that ESPN has shown Mizzou over the last few days, especially in light of some recent off-the-field (and court) incidents.
As most are familiar, receiving such (positive) attention from an international syndicate such as ESPN, is a rarity for Missouri. So when the opportunities arise, it’s nice to bask in the warmth of favoritism for our team.

Ranked at No. 2, receivers J’Mon Moore and Dimetrios Mason rated two spots higher than the Tigers’ running backs and quarterback Drew Lock.
"2. Missouri: J’Mon Moore, Dimetrios Mason. Josh Heupel’s offense really took off in Barry Odom’s first season as Mizzou’s head coach. Moore was second in the SEC with 1,062 yards, averaging 16.3 YPC in the process, while collecting eight touchdowns. Mason grabbed a starting role as a freshman and caught 47 passes for 587 yards and three touchdowns."
The rest of the top 5 may not come as much of a surprise as where they rank. South Carolina received a No. 1 ranking with a very productive trio in the other Columbia. Florida came in at No. 3, Ole Miss at No. 4, and Alabama rounds out the list at No. 5.

While Missouri’s receiving core looks strong coming into the 2017 season, South Carolina will be a tough opponent to challenge in the rankings. We’ll see if Mizzou maintains No. 2, or challenges the Gamecocks for No. 1.
