Mizzou football leaves September as one of the best defensive teams. What will the month of October bring?

The Mizzou football team is on a bye week, and the players are getting healthy while attacking the week as if there is a game Saturday.

The Tigers played their last game of September last weekend against South Carolina, and the team picked up a solid victory to open up the SEC schedule.

Mizzou grabbed the win by playing great defense. The Tigers only allowed 16 total yards rushing, and nearly a third of the receiving yards came on the first touchdown of the second half (where there may have been a missed holding call).

Now moving forward, what will the next four games bring us? Is Cale Garrett and the defense the key to picking up more victories? Is it Kelly Bryant and the offense that will have to lead Mizzou? Both are important, obviously, and so is the special teams.

Here is a look at five key players for Mizzou football as they move into the second part of their schedule.
