Basketball: Big Monday Games Announced!

Yeah, this summer is getting really boring, but the the Big 12 is going to give us some little bits and pieces of the 2010-2011 schedule to fill our appetite.  To start it off, they are giving all of the Big Monday games out. Here is the full list from Big12Sports.com

"2012 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Schedule On ESPN’s Big MondayAll games televised on ESPN and available on ESPN3.comDateGameTime (CT)January 16  Texas A&M at Missouri 4:30 p.m.Baylor at Kansas8:30 p.m.January 23Texas A&M at Kansas8:00 p.m.January 30Missouri at Texas8:00 p.m.February 6Texas at Texas A&M8:00 p.m.February 13Kansas at Kansas State8:00 p.m.February 20Baylor at Texas8:00 p.m.February 27Kansas at Oklahoma State8:00 p.m."

The Tigers are going to get two games on Monday nights again this season, playing a big game on Martin Luther King day against A&M and then a road trip to Austin a couple of weeks later. What sticks out to me is that this is the first time in a quite a few years that Missouri and Kansas haven’t played on Big Monday, which kind of sucks.

Of course, Kansas leads the conference in appearances on Big Monday with four games in seven weeks. Texas and Kansas are tied for the most home games, at two, but then after that it is fairly even with 7 of the 10 teams showing up on the national showcase of Big Monday.

The rest of the schedule, including other national television appearences and the non-conference will be announced in the coming weeks.

Back to waiting till football…
