Yesterday was the first of two days at the Big 12 Media Days. Missouri had their time at the mic during the afternoon bringing Coach Gary Pinkel, TJ Moe, Jacquies Smith, Elvis Fisher, and Kenji Jackson down to Dallas. When Pinkel was being interviewed James Franklin was a hot topic, and Maneater Sports Pat Iversen had his quotes covered here

"“Personality-wise, James and Brad Smith are a lot alike,” Pinkel said. “They’re not rah-rah guys, especially being young players. What they are, the greatest leadership that you can do as a player is to play well. That’s the first thing, the most important thing: You gotta play well.”That’s what Franklin managed to do in his brief appearances last season as Gabbert’s backup, though not necessarily with his arm. Franklin rushed 23 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman, which Pinkel says makes him dynamic in the pocket.“I think he can extend the play,” Pinkel said. “I think he can also do damage with his feet, not only in the passing game but the running game. We really haven’t had that since we had Brad Smith. But he’s got a good arm. Throws the ball well. He’s got a good touch.”"

Not sure why all White Wide Receivers some how get compared to Wes Welker….

In other news, after the lockout got lifted yesterday afternoon the market to sign un drafted free agents went crazy including 3 teams signing Mizzou Graduates. Tim Barnes goes to the Ravens (much to the delight of Kimmie English), Carl Gettis is heading to Cleveland, and Kevin Rutland is going to meet up with his former and now current teammate Blaine Gabbert in Jacksonville.

Free Agent news involving former Missouri Tigers will surely heat up as the NFL goes on its Free Agency Frenzy and it should be a lot of fun to watch.
