Ka’Ra Stewart Commits to Mizzou
Safety Ka’Ra Stewart (O’Fallon, Ill.) has verbally committed to play for the Missouri Tigers next season. He made his commitment during his official visit to Columbia on Saturday.
ESPN ranked Stewart the #25 safety in the class of 2012. He also had offers from Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Purdue, UAB and Air Force. Nebraska and Minnesota were also showing interest.
Stewart’s biggest asset is his versatility. He played safety, running back and linebacker, but could also have seen time at multiple other positions, according to the Belleville News Democrat’s Norm Sanders.
One interesting note from this story is a quote from his coach, Brandon Joggert. “The switch to the Southeastern Conference was something that he was interested in, too.”
This commitment may be proof that the move to the SEC will prove beneficial for the Tigers in the long run.
