The New Orleans Saints have re-signed one of their free agent quarterbacks, but it wasn’t Drew Brees.

Daniel, 26, signed a one-year, one-million dollar contract with the Saints Tuesday. Daniel played for the University of Missouri from 2005 to 2008, starring in the most successful three-year stretch in Missouri football history in his final three years.

The Tigers went to the Sun Bowl in 2006, Daniel’s sophomore year, and finished the 2007 season with a 12-2 record and a No. 4 Associated Press, the highest ranking with which the Tigers have ever ended a season. Daniel was a Heisman finalist and the first Missouri player to win the Big 12’s Offensive Player of the Year award in 2007.

Daniel became the Missouri career leader in offensive yardage in 2008, guiding the Tigers to a 10-win season and a No. 19 ranking.

Daniel has completed six of eight regular-season passes for 45 yards in his NFL career. In preseason action, Daniel has completed 68 of 130 passes for 959 yards, 10 touchdowns and four interceptions.
