Associated Press voters shared Missouri fans’ “Faith in Haith,” naming the first-year MU basketball coach the AP Coach of the Year.

The Tigers recorded a 30 wins in the 2011-12 season under Haith’s guidance, winning the Big 12 before being upset in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The Tigers remained ranked in the AP polls throughout the entire season, reaching as high as No. 2 at one point despite the loss of forward Laurence Bowers, who missed the season with a torn ACL.

Haith also won the United States Basketball Writers’ Association’s coach of the year award for the 2011-12 season.
