Oriakhi Chooses Missouri

Connecticut transfer Alex Oriakhi has decided to play his final year of college basketball at Missouri.

Oriakhi, who is a long-time friend of Tiger point guard Phil Pressey, should make an immediate impact on a potentially weak Tiger front court.

“Missouri needs a center, and I’m going to be the center,” he told the Kansas City Star. “It’s a perfect match.”

He chose Mizzou over Kentucky, Xavier, Duke and North Carolina. His friendship with Oriakhi probably had much to do with the decision.

“This is where I wanted to go from the beginning. It was just a matter of me visiting,” Oriakhi told the Star.
