Four Quarters (Four things to watch)

1) Missouri’s James Franklin playing against a better defense
Franklin has put up good stats so far this season, and has been aided by a stronger receiving core and running game. But both games this season were against weak competition, so watch how Franklin performs against the better Indiana defense.

2) The Tiger secondary against strong passing competition
EJ Gaines leads the consistently average Missouri secondary, who will have their hands full with the Hoosiers this week. Nate Sudfield can throw, and lots of Hoosiers are there to do the catching. The depth and speed at wide receiver will challenge Missouri. Hopefully for the Tigers, the secondary can come up with a pick or two and contain the Indiana offense.

3) Time of possession
This game may come down to who keeps the ball longer, and who doesn’t turn the ball over. Both offenses can score and score quickly, so holding on to the ball and sustaining drives will give the defense a rest and lead to success. Also, winning the turnover battle in a close game like this one between two even teams is key.

4) Indiana QB Nate Sudfield
Sudfield has a strong arm and has been on fire the first three games. Looking to build off a solid freshman season, Sudfield has been very good through three games. It will be interesting to see what kind of success Sudfield can have on Saturday, playing in the first big game of this season. Missouri will try and shut down his passing attack on Saturday.
