  • Floyd chose Mizzou over other D-I offers from programs including Southern Miss, in addition to Memphis and Cincinnati.

“I’ve known for about a month that I wanted to go to Missouri,” Floyd said in a statement. “Because I want the chance to play in the best conference in the Country.”

Hopefully, this is step in the right direction to fill some voids at the receiving core for Gary Pinkel’s bunch.

Floyd has the talent to compete for playing time. Perhaps he’ll be another candidate to ultimately be a viable replacement for the prolific, but oft-troubled Dorial Green-Beckham, who was dismissed by the program in April.

Floyd caught 104 passes for a total of 1,444 yards and scored 19 touchdowns in his senior season at Gulfport High School.

Missouri begins its season August 30, when South Dakota State visits Columbia.
