With our last positional preview, we take a look at the Tigers special teams:

Kicker: Andrew Carr

This is going to be one of those evolving situations on special teams. Carr is a sophomore, and the only one of the four kickers with any experience at Mizzou. While he saw no game action last year, with the infamous Andrew Baggett gone; the position has to be filled. Nick Bartolotta provides the primary competition, but freshmen Ben Tusson or Tucker McCann might be able to throw a monkey wrench into this race. However, the latter two will redshirt this season in all likelihood. While Bartolotta is a redshirt junior and technically more experienced than Carr, Carr has more time in the program and I think pulls out the starting job.

Punter: Corey Fatony

Every time I hear his name I think of Fat Tony from The Simpsons. But he will perform at an All-SEC level this year, and last year he sure got a lot of practice. The Franklin, Tenn. native earned recognition on two different freshman All-American teams and the SEC Freshman team. He also made the Ray Guy Watch List and got named the Ray Guy player of the week for the week of October 10 last season. He broke a 20 year old Mizzou record with 81 punts last season, which speaks to the ineptitude of the Tigers offense a season ago. His net average was 42.9 yards for the season, most among freshmen in the country.

Returner: Alex Ross

Last year Anthony Sherrils (above) saw plenty of action as a return man, but this year the Oklahoma transfer should take over that position. However, if Ross spends considerable time at running back then Sherrils could split the return duties with Ross, and that is what I think will happen.
