The hits kept coming for Mizzou, as Jontay Porter and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl paid visits to Columbia on Monday evening.

Jontay Porter, the younger brother of Michael Porter, Jr., visited Columbia on Monday evening for his first official visit.

As it stands, Jontay Porter is rated a five-star recruit for the 2018 draft class. If he decides to reclassify so that he can play ball with his brother, then it might lower his grading to four stars, but Missouri isn’t concerned about a difference in a star at this point.

Jontay Porter may very well reclassify and commit to Missouri before the summer. According to  Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, “Jontay Porter would like to fly solo in his last year of high school without Michael Porter, Jr, but he also wants to play with his brother at Mizzou.”

While it is more likely that Michael Porter, Jr. will be “one-and-done” playing for Missouri, Rivals says that Jontay Porter will not follow in his brother’s footsteps, which is great news for the Tigers and the additional success of future recruiting classes.

"“Jontay is not a one-and-done guy,” Rivals.com recruiting analyst Corey Evans said recently. “That could be great (for Missouri) because as good as Michael is going to be for Missouri basketball I think Jontay as a long-term guy is even better. That guy’s going to win a lot of games in college basketball. He’s definitely got a different kind of skill set than Michael. Regardless what year he comes out, I think people are undervaluing how good Jontay is going to be in college.”"

A potential conflict of concern is whether Jontay Porter reclassifying to commit to Missouri in 2017 instead of 2018 is an ominous sign that Jeremiah Tilmon or Kevin Knox has opted not to play for the Tigers.

While fans would like to see the Tigers land all of their four and five-star recruiting targets, that may not be a possibility, and it may still be a possibility. It’s a study in Schrödinger’s cat.
