This afternoon, the Missouri baseball will host the Texas A&M Aggies in a double-header, as the Tigers try to recover from losing six of their last eight.

The Tigers will toss out the first pitch against the Aggies this afternoon. With inclement weather forecast throughout the weekend, both clubs agreed to play a double-header on Friday, thus canceling Saturday’s game. Series play will conclude as scheduled on Sunday at 1:00 PM.

Missouri enters this contest with three losses at the hands of Ole Miss and Missouri State. The Tigers hope to reverse their bad luck of late, and win the series slated for this weekend.

More from Truman's Tales

RHP Cole Bartlett will make his second consecutive start this evening, while Tanner Houck is expected to start in the second-of-two matches.

Last week against Ole Miss, Bartlett pitched his first complete game. He ranks second on the team, and 10th in the SEC with a 2.39 ERA.

Houck, who pitched eight innings at Ole Miss last week, will likely open up the start of the second game later in the evening.

The last time Mizzou faced Texas A&M in 2015, Houck pitched a phenomenal game, where he only allowed the Aggies two runs. A&M went on to win the series, however.

Texas A&M currently leads the Tigers with an all-time record of 47-35. Mizzou will try to close that gap a little more this weekend.

The Aggies enter this series coming off of a series win over Tennessee, while Mizzou enters the contest having lost a series at Ole Miss, and a road loss at Missouri State.

In most of their losses, the Tigers have brought themselves into position to make a tying run, or overtake the game in the eight and ninth innings.

If Mizzou finds itself in a come-from-behind situation this weekend, hopefully they will find a way to close the series.

The game will be televised on SEC Network+ beginning at 3:00 PM.
