On the road in “Music City,” Missouri baseball will play in a crucial three-game series against division opponent Vanderbilt.

Coming off of an 11-0 win over Murray State, Missouri baseball looks to continue its reintroduced winning ways, as the Tigers prepare to face the 27-17 Commodores.

Historically, Missouri has struggled against Vandy, and has yet to win a game. With an overall 0-14 record against the Commodores, Mizzou will try to buck its losing streak in a crucial series.

In their last meeting, Missouri, in what should have been a win, was up 6-4 over Vanderbilt, but the Commodores rallied and won the game 8-6, and the series 17-7.

Missouri enters this series following a convincing 11-0 shutout of Murray State, preceded by a series sweep at the hands of Texas A&M.

The Tigers started the season strong, reeling off 20-straight wins, only having lost its first game of four to Eastern Michigan.

After a series sweep by Florida, Missouri’s confidence was shook, and the Tigers have struggled to hit their stride.

Of added interest, head coach Steve Bieser has a history with Vanderbilt, which his team played against while he was coaching Southeast Missouri in 2014. Bieser also shares a winless record against Vandy.

The first-of-three game series begins this evening at 6:30 in Nashville. The game can be heard on KTGR, or viewed on SEC Network+, via the WatchESPN app, all three days.

On Saturday, the Tigers will resume action against Vanderbilt at 2:00 PM. On Sunday, the series will wrap-up, with first pitch at 1:00 PM, as Missouri hopes to go into its next series against South Carolina with a full head of steam, and maybe a win-or-two under its belt.
