In its final home stand of the season, Missouri Softball will host Ole Miss in a cross-division series.

With an overall record of 28-23, the Missouri softball team hopes to finish its season on a high note. The first-of-three games begins this evening, and retires Sunday afternoon.

The unranked Tigers hold a 10-1 lead over the No. 21 Rebels; in the teams’ last meeting in March 2016, Ole Miss defeated Mizzou, 9-5.

A brief review of Missouri’s season is not for the faint-of-heart. The Tigers have played in 25 games against nationally ranked opponents, of which 14 were against top-10 programs.

To say that Missouri’s season has been against a slate loaded with talent, is an understatement. However, the Tigers have fought well at times, and have assembled a respectable record, in what has otherwise been a “down year.”

Missouri enters this series after having the last five days off. Last weekend, Mizzou split a double-header at LSU, but eventually lost the series.

On Wednesday, a game that was scheduled to be played at Wichita State was canceled, due to the deluge of rain experienced in Kansas and the midwest.

Barring inclement weather, and the need for a double-header, the slate of games is scheduled to play over the next three days, beginning this evening at 6:30 PM at Mizzou Stadium. Friday’s game will also be aired on SEC Network+.

On Saturday, Mizzou will resume action against Ole Miss in the second game, which is scheduled for a 2:00 PM first pitch. This will also be aired on SEC Network+.

The series will wrap-up on Sunday at noon, in what will hopefully turn out to be a series win and strong finish to the season for Missouri. All times are Central.
