On Monday, four-star recruit Jeremiah Tilmon signed with Missouri. Then, Jakoby Kemp requested a transfer out. Now, the Tigers are eyeing Jontay Porter.

Prior to requesting a transfer, Kemp took to Twitter, announced that his time at Missouri had “been real.” The responses from fans were mixed, but mostly supportive.

While it’s disappointing that Kemp never had a chance to play for Missouri, these are the types of changes that occur when a new coaching staff takes over.

Later in the afternoon, head coach Cuonzo Martin stated in a press release, that Kemp received his release. While the change is bitter-sweet, we wish Kemp continued success, wherever he lands.

"Jakoby Kemp received his release from our program, and he will pursue other opportunities going forward. Our Mizzou Basketball program wishes nothing but the best for Jakoby in the future, and we will work to assist him in his transition any way possible."

With the release of Kemp, that now gives Missouri another scholarship opening for the 2017-18 basketball season, and the presumed probability that it will eventually be filled by Jontay Porter, who is currently participating in Nike EYBL.

The most recent from Jontay Porter, is that he is “fifty-fifty” on reclassifying. Right now, he plans to finish his commitment with Nike, which his brother, Michael Porter, Jr., says could help Jontay become the No. 1 recruit in 2018, should he decide to wait on reclassifying.

In the meantime, we probably won’t hear much more, if anything, until mid-summer, as to Jontay Porter’s future intentions, and how they include Missouri.
