Entering his third season for Missouri, tight end Kendall Blanton produced 161 yards on 16 receptions. While his production seems low, it reinforces the Tigers’ need to be productive with the personnel they have.

Blanton was active in 12 games, but produced primarily in four games in 2016. I’d like to see an uptick in Missouri’s use of tight ends, because it would allow for a greater dynamic of short and long passes to mix in with a stout run game.

I completely expect to see Blanton’s number get called a little more, since Missouri’s offensive line is another year familiar with offensive coordinator Josh Huepel’s system.

If I had to project, I would say a productive season for Blanton would be about 500 yards receiving.  that could be difficult to achieve though, considering Missouri’s talent at running back and, again, depth at receiver.
