2012 vs. Kentucky
This was not the most memorable game played, but it was the first SEC conference win for Mizzou, which makes it considerably important.
Kentucky was in the pre-Mark Stoops era and was still a doormat in the SEC East. Alas, it was the perfect opportunity for Mizzou to get their first SEC win; which they did on homecoming.
Franklin had struggled with an MCL injury but was cleared to play in this game. Backup Corbin Berkstresser had run the offense earlier, but with little success. Back-to-back interceptions eventually forced Pinkel’s hand and Franklin was put in the game.
While they didn’t get much through the air, they got 108 yards from Lawrence, who found the end zone twice, in the 33-10 win. E.J. Gaines also returned a fumble for a touchdown.
