Missouri Football: The 10 best games of the 2010’s, to date
By Josh McSwain
2015 vs. BYU
This was Gary Pinkel’s final win. In what was a controversial week for the Tigers following football players getting behind a protest of former President Brady Deaton and Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin, the players played and led a fourth quarter comeback to win 20-16.
Following some incidents of racism on campus, the team wanted to support students on campus with a boycott. Eventually, they suited up for Pinkel; the day after, he announced he was leaving the team to due fighting lymphoma.
This win broke a four-game losing streak and was one of the best performances of Drew Lock’s season, as he threw for 244 yards on 19-of-28 passes and a touchdown.
Mizzou led 6-3 at the half, but a third quarter touchdown from the Cougars put them ahead 10-6. Lock found J’Mon Moore for a score and then Tyler Hunt punched it in from a yard out to put Mizzou up, 20-10.
BYU would score again, but it would not be enough.
