2011 vs. Kansas
The last Border Showdown sealed the deal for Mizzou. According to the NCAA, it was still tied –though the Big Eight disagreed – so, indisputably, Mizzou came out ahead. It was not pretty, but the Tigers won, 24-10.
Despite only getting 137 yards of offense the whole game, kU still jumped out to a 10-0 lead as Bradley McDougald returned one-of-three James Franklin interceptions for a touchdown.
A field goal before the half got Mizzou to within a score at 10-3, and then Lawrence tied the game with a two yard touchdown run.
Later in the second half, Franklin hit Wes Kemp for a 25-yard touchdown and then Marcus Lucas for a 53-yarder.
As bad as Franklin’s day was, Kansas starter Jordan Webb went 9-of-20 for 60 yards. It completed an 2-10 (0-9) season for the Jayhawks, and a 7-5 (5-4) season for Mizzou as they finished the year on a three-game winning streak, then defeated North Carolina in the Independence Bowl.
