It’s been a very long time since Missouri played a football game against the Idaho Vandals. In 1963, Missouri, coached by Dan Devine, played a shut-out, beating the Vandals, 24-0, thus proving, crime doesn’t pay.

All punny jokes aside, the Tigers are undefeated – a grand 2-0 – in games played against Idaho. In 1958, the Tigers beat Idaho, 14-10.

In 2016, Idaho assembled a respectable, 9-4 record. While this could be the dreaded “trap game” for Missouri, this game is also far enough in the schedule, that the Tigers may have suffered a couple of losses prior to hosting Idaho.

Historically, Idaho has never beaten an SEC team (0-8), and in the sake of fairness, it’s never beaten a team in the Big 12 (0-5). Idaho’s mark against Big 12 opponents could improve though, if it ever schedules kansas.

In 2016, Idaho was 4-3 on the road, and won its last five games of the season. Depending on how the first half of their season goes, the Vandals could visit Missouri on a hot streak.

Until then, this is a winnable game for the Tigers. I don’t really see much reason why Missouri shouldn’t create more problems for Idaho, thus keeping the Vandals “o-fer” against the SEC.
