Much like kansas, UConn isn’t known for its prowess on the football field. If the Huskies were coached by the legendary (it’s difficult to be nice) Bill Belichick, then a case could be made for UConn.
Fortunately for Missouri, Connecticut isn’t coached by Belichick, and the Huskies, like Purdue, finished with a paltry 3-9 record in 2016. After three losing seasons and one bowl appearance, it’s no wonder former head coach Bob Diaco was fired.
Under new head coach Randy Edsall, Connecticut will hope to turn its losing ways around, but against SEC opponents, the Huskies also haven’t done so well.
While Connecticut won two more games against the SEC than Idaho has, it’s also lost four games against the SEC, including going 0-1 against Missouri.
While the Tigers’ last game against Connecticut was close, 9-6; the Tigers also struggled in 2015, in correlation with protests occurring on the Missouri campus.
Two years removed from racial unrest and a new coaching staff, the Tigers will be back to business as they visit Connecticut in hopes of extending their all-time record and win streak to 2-0.
A win against Connecticut will bring Missouri to at least four wins on the season, and two games closer to bowl eligibility.
