Missouri Football: Nate Howard dismissed; JUCO Malik Young won’t suit up
On Thursday, defensive end Nate Howard was dismissed from the Missouri football team. JuCo player Malik Young also won’t suit up for the Tigers in 2017, as he will transfer out.
The Nate Howard saga was probably over long before it really became anything. The modus operandi of Missouri has been to dismiss athletes with legal troubles, to handle those matters.
Not all legal matters are a game changer, but some are more telling than others, and this was a case where Howard’s primary run-in with the law was probably – at the time – the beginning of his end in Columbia.
Unfortunately, Howard also received a speeding ticket in late March, which he never paid nor appeared in Court, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. The latter a classic case of, “C’mon, man!”

Sixth-ranked JuCo defensive tackle Malik Young will not suit up for the Tigers. Due to a variety of factors, Young will seek a new college to attend.
In 2016, Missouri had its share of struggles on the defensive line. While Young would have been a major boost to the d-line, Odom will have to find Young’s replacement on the roster.

After making visits to Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky, Young opted to play for Missouri, only days after his official visit to Florida. Odom plans to help Young find a new school.
