Missouri Tigers lose third commit from Alabama in James Foster
The Missouri Tigers were hit with more bad news on Thursday afternoon, when 2018 recruit James Foster pulled his commit a day after Cam Taylor pulled his.
The bad news continues to pile up for Missouri, as the Tigers lost a second quarterback commit in as many days. Last month, Mizzou lost its first commit from Alabama, linebacker La’Dedric Jackson.
In his announcement, made via Twitter, Foster shared a similar story line with Taylor. Missouri remains among his top choices, but he’s also received offers from Illinois, Florida State, and Alabama, and most recently, LSU.
Losing another commit hurts, there’s no question about it, but again, they are teenagers, who, sometimes bite at the first thing that comes along. Most of us can’t imagine the excitement, pressure, and everything else that comes along with so many programs wanting their talent.

Without a doubt, this also puts another strike against Tigers’ coach Barry Odom, who has struggled mightily to lead Missouri to a winning season in his two short years as the head man. Foster was considered by many, as the team’s biggest commit on offense.
On a side note, former Missouri quarterback Marvin Zanders applauded Foster for his decision to reopen his recruitment. The undertones of which seemed – well, you be the judge.
Once again, the good news is the Tigers are still on Foster’s short list, but with competition coming from other big programs, it gives pause to wonder where Missouri is headed with uncertainty in its future at quarterback.

The Tigers have Jack Lowary and Micah Wilson coming up, as well as Hayden Rymer and Tayler Powell, so it will be interesting to see, who among them will step into Drew Lock’s shoes, once he declares for the NFL Draft.
