The Missouri Tigers now knows when it will play West Virginia during the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

Last month, the SEC and Big 12 announced the games for this season’s Big 12/SEC Challenge. On Thursday, the conferences announced the times for all of its games, including the Missouri Tigers showdown with the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Missouri is set to play West Virginia at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25. The rest of the games also will be played on that day. The Mizzou-West Virginia battle will be one of two games played during that time slot. The other will be Iowa State and Auburn.

It is still to be determined what network the game will be played on, because some of the games have multiple networks listed as of now.

The Missouri-West Virginia game will either be played on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN U — same for Iowa State and Auburn.

Three games — K-State at Alabama, Kentucky at Texas Tech, and Baylor at Florida — have their networks set. They are the final three games of the day.

That’s an early time slot for Mizzou, but hey, here’s to the Tigers getting a quality non-conference W on the schedule to build their resume for March. I don’t mind early games as much as some people, football or basketball. Fans for football don’t like it because of tailgating, and Alabama definitely doesn’t like it. But basketball is a bit different.

The West Virginia-Missouri football game was at 11 a.m. also, and that turned out well for the Tigers.

Earlier this week, the SEC announced all of its conference games, so Missouri’s schedule now is set. It’s going to be a fun year, and it gets started in November.
