Team captains — Missouri: QB Kelly Bryant, RB Larry Rountree III, CB DeMarkus Acy, LB Cale Garrett and DT Jordan Elliott.

Kickoff forecast — Overcast, 81 degrees, winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph, 65 percent chance of rain.

Other conference game — Southern Mississippi at No. 2 Alabama; No. 4 LSU at Vanderbilt; Tennessee at No. 9 Florida; No. 23 California at Ole Miss; No. 8 Auburn at No. 17 Texas A&M; Kentucky at Mississippi State; San Jose State at Arkansas; No. 7 Notre Dame at No. 3 Georgia.

South Caroline game plan — The Gamecocks went to the air in last week’s loss to Alabama. I believe they’ll want to continue that in today’s game against Mizzou. Freshman Ryan Hilinski was named SEC freshman of the Week, so look for him to go head to head with Mizzou QB Kelly Bryant. On defense, the secondary will want to improve from last week. Rain could make it easier, so South Carolina’s base defense will be able to focus on stopping the run.

Missouri game plan — Looking at last year’s game, and given the weather could be the same, let’s hope Mizzou attacks the Gamecocks on the ground. Missouri can do this between its two top runners in Larry Rountree III and Tyler Badie. Also, the Tigers have Bryant, who hasn’t yet gotten to burn the field with his legs this season. On defense, the secondary could get tested by the Gamecocks freshman quarterback.
