The Rebels come to town to face Mizzou football for homecoming on Oct. 12.

Mizzou football will be playing its second home game under the lights this season.

The SEC announced Mizzou-Ole Miss kickoff will be at 6 p.m. on Oct. 12. That night also will be the homecoming game for the Tigers. It will be the 108th homecoming at Mizzou.

The game will be on ESPN2.

Mizzou beat FCS Southeast Missouri State at 6:30 p.m. earlier this month in its only other night game at Faurot Field. As for the network, Mizzou played on ESPN2 earlier this year against West Virginia.

The Ole Miss game will wrap up five-straight home games for Mizzou, which so far is 3-0 at home. The Tigers play against Troy this weekend in a 3 p.m. kickoff.

After Ole Miss, the Tigers will hit the road for three-straight SEC games before returning home for back-to-back home contests against Florida and Tennessee. Mizzou ends the season against Arkansas in Little Rock.

It will be the first night homecoming game since 2015, when the Tigers played No. 11 Florida and lost 21-3. It also is the first homecoming meeting against an SEC team since 2015.

Over the past three years, Mizzou has beaten Memphis, Idaho and lost to Middle Tennessee on homecoming.Β Mizzou is 2-2 against the SEC in homecoming games and 4-3 overall since 2012.

It’s possible the Tigers could crack the Associated Press Top 25 by Oct. 12. Mizzou sits just outside the top 25 in the latest poll. The Tigers are No. 31 in terms of points with 26. If nothing else, a win Saturday against the Trojans should only give the Tigers more points in the poll.

Meanwhile, Ole Miss is 2-3 with a home matchup against Vanderbilt this weekend.

Saturday, Oct. 12 will feature six SEC games. It will be Week 7 of the season.
