Mizzou football will play Kentucky under the lights in two weeks.

Mizzou football is ranked in the top 25 for the first time this year, and over the next two weeks, the No. 22 Tigers have a great chance to jump up the rankings.

Perhaps a top-20 Missouri team will battle Kentucky in two weeks, and when that game comes, it will be under the lights.

The SEC announced the Kentucky-Mizzou football game will be set for 6:30 p.m. on SEC Network on Saturday, Oct. 26. The last time Mizzou made the trip to Lexington, the two teams played in the same time slot. The victory went to the home team, as the Wildcats have won the past four years.

Maybe this time, Mizzou will take the win. It should have a great shot.

The Tigers, who sit at the top of the SEC East standings after Week 7, are 5-1 with a 2-0 record in the conference, and they are the only undefeated team in the East. Kentucky is 3-3 with a 1-3 record.

Mizzou battles Vanderbilt this weekend and the Tigers are heavy favorites. Kentucky, meanwhile, will play No. 10 Georgia this weekend before its game against Mizzou. It’s likely that when Week 9 comes, Mizzou will be heavy road favorites against Kentucky.

Nonetheless, hopefully the Tigers can knock off the Wildcats after a win over Vanderbilt and give coach Barry Odom his first win against Kentucky.

Also on Monday, Mizzou offensive linemen Yasir Durant was named co-offensive linemen of the week along with Tennessee guard Trey Smith.

Mizzou’s left tackle was a focal point in the first touchdown scored for the Tigers last week. The left tackle was spread out right for a fake screen pass, and Mizzou QB Kelly Bryant went back the other way for Tyler Badie. The running back sprinted in for the 17-yard touchdown to cap off the creative play call.
