Missouri basketball returns home to play its third conference game of the season while looking for its first win.

The Missouri basketball team is 0-2 to begin the conference season for the second straight season. Today, the Tigers will try to avoid going 0-3 like they did last year, but they have a tough task in front of them.

Mizzou will battle Florida tonight as the Tigers try to grab the upset victory. Missouri doesn’t return home for 10 days, so it will be nice if the Tigers can take a victory home with them before they leave CoMo next week for two contests.

Other conference games today: Alabama at No. 14 Kentucky; Georgia at No. 5 Auburn; South Carolina at Tennessee; Texas A&M at Vanderbilt; Arkansas at Ole Miss; Mississippi State at LSU.

Today is the first day of a full slate of SEC games in the conference as all 14 teams are paired against a conference foe. The Tigers, one of only two 0-2 SEC teams, get the Gators, one of only four 2-0 teams in the conference.

Florida has one of the best newcomers in the league in forward Kerry Blackshear Jr. The senior transfer from Virginia Tech is averaging a team-high 14.6 points per game with a team-high 8.7 rebounds. Blackshear, the third-best rebounder in the SEC, will look to take advantage of the Tigers, who are minus Jeremiah Tilmon for now. Andrew Nembhard is the Gators’ top guard and has more than six assists per outing to lead the team. The Gators also have freshman Scottie Lewis, who recently was named Freshman of the Week in the SEC. Lewis had a double-double against Alabama and also leads Florida in steals (1.5) and blocks (1.5) per game.

Next up: Missouri will head to Mississippi State on Tuesday.
