Duds vs Alabama
Dud #1: Mitchell Smith
Mitchell Smith picked up six rebounds but only could play in 14 minutes of action. His four personal fouls kept him sidelined for a lot of the time.
Smith had four offensive boards, which Mizzou will need a lot of going forward. He kept the Tigers in the game by out-rebounding the Tide plenty Saturday. If he can stay in the game, that will help, too.
Dud #2: Javon Pickett
Javon Pickett was 0-for-5 from the field in 30 minutes of playing time. Pickett made the start in place of freshman Kobe Brown for the first time, but Brown outplayed the sophomore.
Pickett grabbed five rebounds and two assists with a block, so he did some good on the court. Pickett needs to knock down some of those open shots when he gets the opportunity.
Dud #3: Tray Jackson
Tray Jackson only played in five minutes Saturday and missed his only shot attempt. The freshman should be fine moving forward, but the Tigers are going to use him now and will need to lean on Jackson for some minutes in the future.
He is fine with his development. He scored two points on free throws in Saturday’s game, helping Mizzou to that 31-for-31 mark.
