Missouri Tigers 2023 football schedule released
The new 2023 SEC football schedule has dropped. The Missouri Tigers will face some familiar foes both in and out of the conference. The SEC season will culminate in the SEC Championship game, which will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
On September 6th, Missouri will welcome South Dakota to Faurot Field. A team who is eager to play the bigger schools. This season, the South Dakota Coyotes faced the Kansas Jayhawks and the Kansas State Wildcats. Losing both, but nearly beating the Jayhawks on the road.
The Missouri Tigers then welcome Middle Tennessee State to Columbia on September 9th. The Blue Raiders continue to seek out top-tier competition, by adding Missouri to their list of power conference schools to their out-of-conference scheduling. Middle Tennessee State is playing the University of Miami on Saturday, September 24, 2022. They are not afraid of the big boys. The Blue Raiders ranked lower in Conference USA prior to their relocation. They placed better last year, once moving to the West division, finishing 7-6
The Missouri/Kansas State rivalry picks back up in 2023, on September 16th. This time, the Wildcats come to Faurot Field. Kansas State throttled the Tigers on their home field 40-12 on September 10th. Mizzou then faces an unknown opponent on the road on September 23rd. The Tigers than head to Nashville to face the Vanderbilt Commodores on September 30th.
The Missouri Tigers SEC Schedule Starts To Heat Up
The Tigers are then back home for a battle with the LSU Tigers on October 7th. Then back on the road to face the Kentucky Wildcats on October 14th, and then home again, to face off with the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday, October 21st. The Tigers then get some much-needed rest with a bye week, as they prepare to run the gauntlet – starting with Georgia, at Georgia.
Mizzou finishes the season with Tennessee, Florida and then the big rivalry game as the Missouri Tigers travel to Fayetteville to face the Razorbacks. The season finale for the Missouri Tigers is as important as any bowl game, certainly any bowl game that is not title related. This is the game that Tigers fans circle each year.
Eli Drinkwitz has this to say about rivalry games in June, 2022:
"“The consistency of rivalries is gonna be important to the passion of the Southeastern Conference.”"
