Would you be surprised to learn that Missouri football has never played nearly a quarter of the current FBS programs during their football history?

The Tigers have played football for over one hundred years, playing in the Big 8 for much of the 20th century. Later, members of the Big 12, Missouri has been in the SEC for over a decade and have had a chance to match up against a number of other college football programs.

However, football seasons are usually just about a dozen games long and the schedules are dominated by conference play. As a result, there is actually a decent list of FBS programs that Missouri has never faced.

Today, we’re going to be looking at the 32 current FBS programs that Missouri has never faced in football. Do you wish Missouri would play any of these schools?

Independents

In actuality, UMass is the only currently independent school that Missouri has never faced. It’s not a big surprise, since UMass just joined the FBS level in 2012, but it’s also something that will change. The two schools are currently scheduled to face off in 2024.

While Missouri will then have no current independents among opponents they’ve never faced, some of the other conferences have intriguing names.
