Believe it or not, Missouri football has never played these FBS teams

Missouri football has never played these Mountain West schools
Missouri hasn’t played a team from the Mountain West since 2019, which was an opening-week loss at Wyoming, and it’s a rare recent performance for the Tigers. They’ve played most of this league at some point in their history, with many of those games coming before the turn of the century.
In total, there are just four MWC teams that Missouri has not yet faced, and they are all on the far west coast of the country. This is a list of names that includes Boise State, Fresno State, and San Jose State, three schools in California, along with UNLV.
Boise State has been one of the best Group of 5 football programs across the last few decades, but they haven’t come to Columbia or found an opponent in Missouri. Likewise, the other California schools simply haven’t linked up with the Tigers.
It’s not completely uncommon for Missouri to play MWC schools. They have a home-and-home with San Diego State scheduled for 2027 and 2028, they just haven’t found a way to work these schools onto their schedules, especially with current obligations with the SEC and a semi-regular rival in Illinois.
