On Thursday afternoon, news broke that Mizzou had lost a three-star recruit following the decommitment of safety Dyllon Williams from its 2025 recruiting class.

The Demopolis, Alabama native verbally committed to Mizzou on June 11th. Williams' departure isn't entirely surprising, as the Tigers have a ton of defensive back depth lined up for the future.

According to 247Sports composite rankings, Williams ranked No. 724 nationally and was the No. 61 safety in his recruiting class.

Early crystal ball predictions suggest that Williams could land at another SEC school, with Kentucky currently leading the race. He holds offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss among others.

It has been rumored that Mizzou is aggressively pursuing four-star defensive back Byron Baldwin, who recently decommitted from Indiana. Colorado is also reportedly in the mix, setting up a potentially intriguing recruiting battle between the two programs.

Regardless, the Tigers are expected to return plenty of talent at the position, highlighted by the likes of Daylan Carnell and Marvin Burks.
