In the summer of 2024, Missouri was one of the final three schools for five-star offensive lineman Carius Curne. He had narrowed down his choices to Arkansas, LSU and Missouri, but ended up picking LSU. Now, after a promising freshman season, he's in the transfer portal, and Mizzou should already be at the top of his list.
Curne took an official visit to Columbia last June, and had Mizzou as one of his finalists. With the loss of Keagen Trost, and potentially Cayden Green, the Tigers will need some help along the offensive line, and Curne could be a perfect fit.
Tigers may be in play to land a top tackle in the portal
Curne was a five-star prospect out of Arkansas, and the No. 1 player in the state coming out of high school. He committed to LSU, and played in seven games at both left and right tackle for the Tigers before entering his name into the portal on Wednesday.
Curne was once committed to Arkansas before flipping to LSU, so expect the Razorbacks to be involved in his recruitment as well. But Missouri still has a strong chance to land the prized tackle, especially if he's basically guaranteed a starting spot.
Missouri will be very active in the portal this winter, with huge needs at corner, edge and offensive line. Curne would be a big get and fill a hole for Eli Drinkwitz and company who may end up needing to replace both starting tackles next season.
