Can the Tigers boost their stock enough at the NFL Combine?
Zion Young is obviously the big name to watch. He's been projected as early as a mid-first round pick, and has already dominated at the Senior Bowl, taking home Defensive MVP honors. The 6-foot-5 defensive end will now need to have some solid numbers in the speed drills to eliminate any remaining question marks.
Meanwhile, another Senior Bowl standout, receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. will also look to boost his stock. He's a shifty slot guy, who, much like Young, will benefit from some fast times at the combine.
The Tigers will also feature tackle Keagen Trost, linebacker Josiah Trotter, defensive tackle Chris McClellan and cornerback Toriano Pride Jr. Trotter has the best odds of getting drafted, followed by McClellan, but Trost and Pride will have some work to do to hear their names called in April.
Trotter and McClellan were both highly productive in college, with McClellan racking up 8.5 sacks over two years at DT, but they may find themselves as rotational players at the next level. Still, a strong combine and any concerns about the ability to be a three down player may change. Both could use some strong explosive showings in the cone drill or 10-yard splits to prove their capabilities at the next level.
Pride and Trost are on the verge of draftable, but both are older prospects who may not have as high of ceilings as some others on this list. Trost will be a 25 year old rookie. Time will tell if they can improve their stock.
