This season has provided fans with some of the highest highs, and the lowest lows. As of now, the playoffs look far out of reach, but as head coach Eliah Drinkwitz reminded fans earlier this week, there is a lot more to play for then that, though it is deflating.
The Tigers are coming off a loss in what was true freshman Matt Zollers first start - and oh yeah it was agaisnt No. 3 overall (and arguably better) SEC Conference rival Texas A&M. They'll stay home this week for a 6:45 pm cst kickoff at Faurot Field.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are coming off a 20-point home loss to No. 5 Georgia.
The Tigers are 6-3 in the conference, with a 2-3 conference record, compared to Mississippi State's 5-5 record, with just a 1-5 conference record. Mizzou is tied for No. 8 in a loaded SEC, whereas the Bulldogs sit at No. 12.
These teams have only played five times prior, with just three coming in Columbia. Last November, Mizzou took home the victory, in a 39-20 rout in Starksville.
The Tigers actually haven't won in Columbia versus the Bulldogs since a 1984 matchup. Back then, Coach Drinkwitz was less than a year old!
The game will be watchable on the SEC Network, featuring Tom Hart, Jordan Rogers and Cole Cubelic, as well as WatchESPN and ESPN+ on the ESPN App.
The Tiger Radio Network will call the game, as always with Mike Kelly, Howard Richards and Chris Gervino. It'll also be on local stations 1580AM/105.1 FM and 96.7 FM, as well as SiriusXM's 106, 190 and 374.
The contest will also be streamable on FuboTV and the Varsity Network App.
As of Friday afternoon, BetMGM has the Moneyline: Missouri -263, Mississippi State +213
Meanwhile, the spread is Missouri -7 (-109), and Mississippi State +7 (-111), with an Over/Under of 51.5.
Though the sun will be set by kickoff, the skies will be clear and the weather will remain in the low 60s and high 50s throughout, a fairly warm game for the middle of November.
This huge contest will kickoff in the early evening on Saturday, as both squads look to pickup a much needed SEC Conference win, and put themselves on the right track, as the season begins to wind down.
