Head coach Eliah Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers are looking to put together a multi-game win streak, for the first time since their homecoming game versus UMass, in late September.
However, that will be far from an easy feat to achieve, as they are forced to travel into Norman, Oklahoma to play one of the hottest teams in the country, in SEC Conference rival, the No. 8 overall Sooners.
Oklahoma is 8-2 overall, with a 4-2 SEC record, good enough for No. 6 in the SEC, but No. 8 overall, according to the College Football Playoff rankings. They're coming off a two-point upset win versus then-No. 4 overall Alabama.
Their recent win versus the Crimson Tide proves that they can take down even the biggest of competitors, in the biggest of moments. The team is poised for a post-season berth, and a win over No. 22 overall Mizzou will put them in a position to clinch that, this Saturday.
The Tigers sit at 7-3, and a slightly worse 3-3 in the conference. They're coming off a 49-27 blowout of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Though they made their way back into the official top-25 rankings, Drinkwitz and co are still looking for his statement win of the year, amid rumors that he's preparing to leave this offseason.
This is actually the 98th meeting between these teams all-time, as they have one of the older rivalries in college football, dating back to the Big 8, then Big 12, and now the SEC. The Sooners lead this series 67-25-5, but the Tigers have the last laugh, defeating them 30-23 at Faurot Field.
Oklahoma hasn't beaten Mizzou at home since 1966, and have only done this seven times in this matchup's history.
The 11:00 am ct kickoff will be featured on ABC, with Sean McDonough, Greg McElroy and Molly McGrath announcing. It's also watchable on WatchESPN, the ESPN App, and streamable on FuboTV, and the Varsity Network App.
Meanwhile, fans can tune in on the Tiger Radio Network, with Mike Kelly, Howard Richards and Chris Gervino. It'll also be on local channels 1580 AM, 105.1 FM and 96.7 FM, and Sirius XM 82 and 84.
As of Thursday, the weather for kickoff looks to be high 50s, with some clouds, but sun peaking through. Just about the best weather a fan can ask for in late November.
Per ESPN, Oklahoma is 7.5 point favorites, with a combined over/under of 41.5 points.
This is Coach Drinkwitz's last chance to get a statement win within the SEC Conference this season. With all the reports of his potential departure after this season, a win over a team of this caliber would be sure to silence them.
