Winners of their last five games coming into the matchup against South Dakota, the Mizzou Tigers have been playing really good basketball as of late.

In Monday’s outing against Prairie View A&M, the Tigers had six scorers reach double figures in the contest.

Of those six scorers, one of which was Jevon Porter, where he dropped a season-high 12 points in the contest.

Against South Dakota, Porter once again lit up the score sheet for the Tigers as they closed out an impressive victory over the Coyotes.

Mark Mitchell led the Tigers in scoring with an impressive 22 points in the victory. He finished the game 7-for-12 from the field.

While Porter didn’t quite get to 20, finishing with 19, he played one of the better games of his career, doing it on 9-for-9 shooting from the field.

In addition to his perfect shooting night, Porter notched a team-high 12 rebounds.

With Tiger big man Shawn Phillips Jr. out with an illness, Porter’s name was called in a big way and he undoubtedly had his best game as a Tiger.

In the 102-68 win over the Coyotes, Porter seemed to do it all tonight as he and the Tigers outscored the Coyotes by 17 in the second half.

With Phillips Jr. out, Porter really had a chance to shine and the offense looked refreshed as a whole.

Throughout the early part of the season, spacing issues have arisen in the Tigers offense with the ball going through Phillips’ hands on a consistent basis, specifically in the high post.

In contrast, Porter being able to play outside the 3-point arc seemed to open up the floor as a whole for the offense to operate.

Following the win, the Tigers will host South Carolina State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. on SECN+.
