Johnny Walker Jr. has accepted an invitation to participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl on January 30th.
The annual game held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, features seniors looking to showcase their skills one final time. Walker will look to continue improve his NFL Draft stock after a dominant performance in the Music City Bowl.
Walker's impact on the Tigers has been drastic, and when he leaves this offseason, it's going to be one of the toughest holes for Mizzou to replace next season. Not just because of his outstanding play, but even more so due to the leadership he brings every time he steps on the field.
“Johnny's just been a guy that you can look back on and say, this is what our program continues to be built on," head coach Eli Drinkwitz said.
After the bowl game on Monday, Drinkwitz revealed that Walker had suffered an injury leading up to the game, but opted to play through injury.
The extent of said injury remains unknown, so it'll be interesting to see if it limits Walker's participation in the East-West game. More information can be expected in the coming weeks.
