Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers found a big time player at a position of need well after the portal window closed. Players who didn't find new teams during the open window are still free to sign with new teams, and Missouri just added the best player still available.

According to Pete Nakos of On3, Mizzou has landed edge Kamauryn Morgan from Baylor. The former Bear had originally committed to Virginia Tech before decommitting just a week later due to academic issues. Now, he'll head to CoMo as the Tigers' newest edge rusher.

The Tigers strike gold with the very late portal addition of Kamauryn Morgan

Morgan had just six tackles as a freshman at Baylor, but was a four-star recruit as a high-schooler. Missouri was involved with Morgan's high school recruitment as well as his initial transfer recruitment as well. After losing out on both, Drinkwitz and the Tigers finally got Morgan on campus. He was considered the top player still available based on On3 rankings.

For Missouri, Morgan represents a huge bump to their defensive end room after losing starters Zion Young and Damon Wilson II. While Mizzou did add a few other players in the portal, such as CJ May, Jaden Jones, Malik Bryant and Cavan Tuley, none have much playing experience or production. Morgan is a highly-touted player who played in 10 games as a freshman at a big time program, and may have a clear path towards significant playing time with Mizzou.

The Missouri transfer class now sits at 30 with this late add of Morgan. Hopefully, he can be the key to Missouri replacing the 15.5 sacks that went out the door with Young and Wilson. Still, with spring practice on break, he'll face a bit of a leaning curve to get up to speed with the rest of the roster.
