After losing most of their receiver room this offseason, the Tigers have been active in the transfer portal to rebuild the unit. Now, they've landed their third commitment at the position with a speedster from Florida.

According to On3, wide receiver Naeshaun Montgomery has committed to Missouri and Eli Drinkwitz. The 6-foot-1, 189-pound receiver is a former three-star recruit, and still has four years of eligibility remaining. He had just three catches for 29 yards this past season with the Gators, but only appeared in two games and was able to maintain his redshirt.

Tigers add some serious speed with latest portal addition

The Tigers were in need of some serious help in the transfer portal at receiver, and have now secured three commitments. Montgomery, along with Horatio Fields and Caleb Goodie, now make up a solid trio of additions for Drinkwitz and company. Mizzou had lost Marquis Johnson, Joshua Manning, Daniel Blood and James Madison II to the portal, and star receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. was out of eligibility.

Montgomery will now provide some good depth and some speed for a receiver room that could use some athletes. He was a track and field star in high school, and will be a nice developmental piece for the coaching staff. New quarterback Austin Simmons has a rocket arm, and he'll now have some receivers who can stretch the field for the Tiger offense.

Montgomery is the 12th transfer commitment for the Tigers, who now have the No. 15 ranked class of the portal cycle so far. While receiver is likely done for Drinkwitz, there's still plenty of work to be done, especially at edge after the surprise departure of Damon Wilson II.
