Mizzou Fans, Expect a New Look on the Offensive Line This Season

Over the past handful of seasons, Mizzou football has found overall success in football, with the help of numerous aspects of the game. This is no doubt seen the most present with their offensive line.

While Tigers football head coach Eliah Drinkwitz has worked hard to build the strongest offensive line possible for the 2025-26 campaign, which kicks off later this month, he's made it clear he isn't married to any combination of five, and the week one starters are still very much up in the air.

"For us, it's all about getting the best five," Drinkwitz said on The Paul Finebaum Show, following a scrimmage versus Lindenwood . "Guys grow and develop and get better and play themselves into positions, and so we're having those constant discussions."

The former high school All-State linebacker went onto say that he feels confident in the group that is currently practicing with the ones, though its more than expected to shift at some point, prior to the season's start.

Most recently, fans saw Cayden Green, who normally plays left guard, move to right tackle, while Dominick Giudice shifted to left guard from right, and Curtis Peagler was moved to the starting right guard spot, after playing from the bench earlier in camp.

Green, who transferred from Oklahoma after his freshman year, is looking to make a serious impact on the program this season. He was in line to start at tackle last season before the Tigers brought in Marcus Bryant, who quickly took over the job.

The Lee's Summit native is a true "swing tackle", with experience at both guard and tackle, though it looks as if he'll be starting at the blindslide tackle spot come the start of the season, according to offensive line coach Brandon Jones.

This Mizzou squad has a ton of players similar to Green in that regard, most noteably Giudice, who played every interior offensive line position (left guard, center, and right guard) prior to his visit to the transfer portal from Michigan after last season.

Theres always a lot to love on Mizzou's offensive line, which last year featured Armand Membou at right tackle, and Bryant at left, who were drafted in the first and seventh rounds of this past NFL Draft in April.

A year prior to that, during the 2023-24 season, the line as whole finished as semi-finalists for the Joe Moore award, which is given to the team with best offensive line.

This line encapsulates every type of player that a good offensive line coach would want to see, with several veterans, key youth pieces, swing tackles, and a ton of depth.

It'll be interesting to see what Drinkwitz and the rest of the coaching staff decide to do at practices moving forward, and if fans will begin to see a consistent five in the coming days.
