Mizzou’s five-star quarterback commit Matt Zollers will visit Penn State on Saturday for its most highly anticipated matchup of the season against Ohio State.
Zollers has been committed to Mizzou since April 4, choosing the Tigers over Penn State, Georgia and several others. He's a native of Royersford, Pennsylvania, so a visit to the Nittany Lions isn’t too surprising.
Mizzou fans should be able to rest easy, however, as Zollers made it clear he’s still all about the Tigers.
“I’m still locked in with Mizzou,” Zollers said. “I just think it’d be a cool game to go check out."
Zollers has been actively helping recruit for Mizzou this season, bolstering its 2025 recruiting class with elite talent.
The senior quarterback suffered a season-ending dislocated ankle but is still expected to make a full recovery within six months. For now, Zollers will stand out on Penn State’s sideline, as he’s currently unable to put weight on his left foot.
Zollers' commitment is essential for Mizzou's future, and there have been no real reasons to believe he’d flip to another program. However, if he were to change his decision, it could spell trouble for the Tigers, as he’s played a key role in recruiting top talent for the 2025 class.
For now, this should be dismissed as part of the new era in college football until anything indicates otherwise.
