On the heels of a comeback victory over Oklahoma on Saturday night, the Missouri Tigers moved up one spot to No. 23 in the newest College Football Playoff rankings.

Mizzou improved to 7-2 on Saturday night, and Coach Eli Drinkwitz believes his team is still very much in playoff contention.

“Any team in the SEC that finishes with 10 wins should be in the playoffs,” Drinkwitz said. “I don’t think there’s really any doubt in my mind about that. I don’t know how many are going to get there because there’s a lot of games left to be played, but it feels like every game we play in the SEC is a playoff game.”

The Tigers are currently plagued by multiple bad losses, both on the road in tough environments, but the combined score being 71-10 in those two games.

Both teams are currently within the top 15, however, with Texas A&M ranked No. 15 and Alabama at No. 10 in the nation.

Mizzou's biggest game remaining is this week, scheduled to face off against South Carolina on the road. This is a rivalry game that the Tigers have controlled recently, winning the last five contests in the "Mayors Cup."

With South Carolina ranked No. 21 in the country, it provides an opportunity for Mizzou to make a statement win with playoff aspirations on the line.

Whether or not the Tigers will have Brady Cook remains unknown, but what is known is that regardless of who plays quarterback, the Gamecocks are no joke this year.

Don't miss the action with kickoff set for 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, airing on SEC Network.
